First off, what is Myxomatosis? It's an infectious viral disease of rabbits and hares, which is usually fatal. However, some strains of rabbits develop resistance to the disease. Myxomatosis was used by Australia and the UK in the 1950s to reduce the rabbit population, because rabbits were causing significant damage to crops.
